Hardwood and Luxury Vinyl Flooring Project for a New Kelowna Home

Project Overview: Our team embarked on a flooring project for a newly constructed two-storey + basement house, encompassing different flooring materials for various areas. The main floor was adorned with engineered hardwood, while the upstairs bedrooms and stairs were carpeted. The basement suite was finished with durable and aesthetically pleasing luxury vinyl.

Flooring Products: For the main floor, we carefully selected Vavel European Oak by Eckowood, featuring six-foot long, 7 ⅜-inch wide wire-brushed engineered hardwood planks. Every minute detail was attended to, including the installation of custom-made hardwood flush floor vents that seamlessly covered all the heating vents. To create a cozy and luxurious atmosphere, the upstairs area was carpeted with Mohawk Smart Strand carpet series, providing a plush look and feel. In the basement suite, we opted for the practical yet visually appealing Centura Duraflex floor glue-down vinyl plank, which offered resilience and matched the natural oak look on the main floor.

Product Selection Process: The homeowners and builder collaboratively identified several goals when choosing the flooring materials. They sought a rustic and natural aesthetic to complement the fireplace and surrounding space in the main living area. Additionally, they desired basement flooring that could withstand daily wear and tear while still matching the look of natural oak on the main floor.
